Looking For a New OD - Suggestions?
As a poor college student about to get a job as a valet over the summer, I want to look for a new overdrive pedal to add to my board. Earlier this year, I had my only OD and EQ pedals stolen (RIP) and I'm looking to replace them. The OD was an EQD Talons which I loved and am considering re-buying, and the EQ was an EQD Tone Job which I will definitely be re-buying (I loved that thing).
Anyways, I was wondering what overdrives you guys might suggest. I really want an OD that can work in just about any musical context because I like to dabble in a lot of different genres (this is one of the reasons I loved my Talons). I play a Reverend Six Gun into a Vox VT40+ (I'm saving up for a real tube amp as soon as possible). I also have a EQD Hoof Reaper, so my fuzzy needs are covered pretty well. (Can you tell I like EarthQuaker Devices?)
I appreciate any suggestions that you might have!

I know the Tone Job can be incredibly powerful before or after other dirt, so maybe look for something similar to the Talons in terms of dirt with a simpler EQ section if budget is an issue? I'm really enjoying stacking dirt pedals with less knobs at the moment.

I feel positively about this description of a presence knobMudfuzz wrote:presence as in that knob marshalls have that make them sound bad if you turn it up? or is it more perceptual?
