Recommend a shark tank builder for "out there" pedals"?

Post by Confuzzled »

I'm looking to spend some cash on something bizarre and I'd like to support the little guy. I'm not sure what I'm looking for. Just bought the Akai head rush because let's face it, a delay for $55? Why the fuck not?

So, I want something out there. not your conventional pedal. My board is pretty complete by the collector nutcase in me always wants more. Any recommendations on shark tank builders? I've been going through the boards and most seem to be making fuzz clones which I'm not interested in at this point.

Industrialelectric's RM 1N and Montreal Assembly's Count to Five are about as out there as you can get! I think they're both on a tiny break right now, but they are AWESOME builders to work with. spot on communication :thumb: should definitely get in line if you dig their stuff
i'm glad i can call you a friend. even if i'll never see you again

I'll say that most of the Shark Tank builders do things above and beyond fuzz clones, too. Gigahearts Ian comes to mind first, but that's mostly because one of his pedals is sitting on my desk at the moment.

Look into seppuku FX. The memory loss is freaking awesome, especially combined with stuff. And the kompact kassette has been my main gassing point this year

Also, Gigahearts seconded.

I think the people who say Industrialectric and Montreal Ass'y are worth listening to. So much sick need for Cto5, and Andrew's Echo Degrader is a stand-alone pedal board of lofi weird.

McSpunckle no longer makes to order I don't think, but if a Gnomeratron pops up throw it in a burlap sack and take it back to your campfire; throw it in the fire and it will make ultraweird greenflame glintys and curlicue smoke signals to the fuzzgnome pantheon.

I also always look longingly at schtuff LaoWiz makes, and I'm probs going to het up Shoe for one of his weirder thangs. Some day.

Ghost's stuff is not in itself very weird, but is so platonically good as urFuzz, and he will encrust your fuzz with bias knobs at your request so you can twiddle your eidolon of fuzzessence up shit creek sans rowing implement.

Seriously everyone who builds here is fucking rad. Just find someone who's aesthetics and pricepoint (and pedal function) work for you.

Really, it doesn't get much cooler than Industrialectric and MTL.ASM. The RM-1N is a MUST try if you're at all interested in verb, drones, big washy sounds.
