Re: Spectrum Analyzer Teaser Video - Internal Mic Mode
Thanks guys!
I've got 5 black powder coated drill samples coming my way, probably have them next week-ish, and if they're all good then I'll be ready to start a run of these. I'm super excited about these analyzers, they put a smile on my face bigtime.

Are these still in the works, or were they crushed by the Heisenburg?

Re: Spectrum Analyzer Teaser Video - Internal Mic Mode
These are totally still in the works, sorry for the lack of updates guys! The problem has been getting a perfect drill sample of the box, it's a toughie and it's really critical it's perfect. I'm hoping to get my 4th round of samples next week and hopefully they'll fit perfect and I can place the order for the first round.
The pcb is ready, the code is working perfectly, I've had one running on a breadboard in my shop for months and months and it's super reliable and consistent.. I've even started rounding up bar graph LEDs for the builds, I've got nice red ones and blue ones and weird ones that go red/yellow/green/yellow/red. It's all down to the box sample and as soon as it's ready, I'm ready, and I'll do a proper demo video and get 'em into production!
I'm still really excited about these analyzers too so these production waits have been extra tough on me.. I'm really pumped to start making these! I seriously stare at the analyzer more than the tv! *smile*

Sorry for the super slow answer! The analyzer is in a 1590B box, same as a Frazz or mini-Reverberator. The LEDs stick through the main panel about .75 of a centimeter.
It's been slow getting these ready, been tough getting the box and pcbs to fit perfectly. I have a perfect drill sample now, a box that's got all the holes in exactly the right places, and next week I'll receive my next round of prototype pcbs.. here's hoping it all fits together nicely and I can order the production run. I already ordered the boxes in shiny black with rainbow sparkle.
I'll post my results next week when I build the next proto.. I'm nervous about it haha, it's been tough getting it all to fit perfectly. I don't use any CAD software, I just dry-fit with paper etc and do my best.. it usually works out fine but the analyzer is a toughie.
There's good news too though, I've got a good source of red and blue bar graphs at a decent price. I'm also going to include the right audio adapters like 1/4" to 1/8" and RCA to 1/8" and I found a good place to get them as well. My plan is to also include a 1/8" both ends shielded cable and a power supply. So you'll have everything you need to use the analyzer right in the box.
