Download the firmware update and tell the sequencer to play on key press I think? You could sequence one noteDarkAxel wrote:is there a way to have the Microbrute sustaining a tone after you don't hold the key?

Ha, that's nice
but would it be a continuous, droning note or would the sequencer sort of... trigger the note over and over again? anyone know?

Re: Microbrute vs Minibrute
Quick question on the microbrute keys. I know they are mini keys. I don't like mini keys (I grew up as a piano player). However, the worse thing about them are how hard it is to press them down on the black keys and the top parts of white keys. I haven't had many instruments with mini keys, so I don't know if this is something that all mini keys have, or just certain ones. If all mini keys are like this, never mind. However, if its just certain ones, then here's my question. An example of these hard to push down keys are on the minilab midi controller. If anyone knows what I'm talking about, then are the keys on the microbrute like that, or not?
P.S. (maybe the minilab keys are like that so they can be velocity sensitive? in that case, would the microbrute, since its not velocity sensitive, not be that way?)

Re: Microbrute vs Minibrute
lots of analog synths have digitally controlled components. even dating back to the 70s and 80s.

Re: Microbrute vs Minibrute
It could even be a digital part changing an analog internal switch or something.
It has MIDI out, it can't be completely analog.

Yeah, for that size I wasn't expect to be a 100% analog synth. I don't mind of digital stuff as long as it works and sounds good to me, but label something as "analog" and then see that there are firmware updates was like a "huh?" reaction.
brb, going to read the manual...

It only works on the keys with overhangs, hold the key down and slide a card in... For block type keys you fold them up and stick them between the back of the key and the body of the keyboard...
Purple tape works too...

I think it's got 100% analog signal path, analog LFOs and envelopes, etc.ramonovski wrote:Yeah, for that size I wasn't expect to be a 100% analog synth. But the sequencer and things like that (basically routing of some CV/gate) are handled by something that can be formware updated. No contradiction whatsoever there.
