Dear Musicians everywhere

Post by Bellyheart »

STOP DROPPING ALBUMS RIGHT NOW.

Not sure about everyone else but I'm about backed up.

Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp A Butterfly
Earl Sweatshirt - I Don't like Shit, I Don't Go Outside
Father - Who's Gonna Get Fucked First
Lightning Bolt - Fantasy Empire
Death Grips - Jenny Death from The Powers That B
Godspeed You Black! Emperor - Asunder, Sweet and Other Distress
Action Bronson - Mr. Wonderful
Zu - Cortar Todo

I need less work and more listening time

Thanks. Everyone follow this example. At least give it a month so I have more time to digest the albums and not just hear them once. Kendrick alone took me three listens to understand

So pumped for the Earl. I've been listening to like only Doris for the past few days. Getting the new one tomorrow night.

I've only heard that one Kendrick Lamar song from the new album so far... uhh don't have an opinion yet but not my fave

Also, new Modest Mouse and Sufjan Stevens

& this is actually a good idea. I was all ready to push a release of mine out within the next week but I think waiting a bit (but not too long) until some of the dust settles from all these releases would be a good thing. Not like anything I put out would be in direct competition of all the high ranking artists putting out shit  but there's certainly a lot happening right now.

This would bother me more if I was ever on time with new music.

Maybe it wouldn't have an effect globally but if your friends and fans also listen to some of these albums it might effect it.

New Earl is taking a bit to get into but it takes time we LB are songs I heard when I played with them two years ago but is great. Weird hearing an album be not as raw production wise.

if i'm not mistaken, i think john congleton was involved in the production process of it?
