a friend of mine has a Landgraff Overdrive. $100 worth of run-of-the-mill 3 knob overdrive toanz and $400 worth of jesus flyers. would not recommend.
i can't be the only one who thinks replica fuzz pedals like Pigdog and many others are in that kinda bracket, even though they get a lot of love over here. i've always been curious because it seems like an ungodly amount of money vs. the amount of components. i mean at least cornish pedals generally have pretty comprehensive circuitry inside with all the uber-secret buffers and stuff. it almost seems like a good deal compared to the boutique fuzzes that you open up and feel like you're gonna get sucked inside by all the empty space.
also i don't reckon Strymon really fit in the category, they really aren't overpriced for what they do and the amount of R&D going into them, if anything it's weirder that they're so popular over at TGP since they're about as digital as you can get. BILF was full of strymons and midi controllers and stuff, no need to be ashamed.
Yeah Cornish gear is way too expensive just to buy to look at the insides. I built a few clones of his Ld1 buffer circuit to use on my board. They are nice buffers I think. Very well designed circuit. Not sure how they compare to the originals. But I have a looong pedal chain full of true bypass pedals and my sparkly highs and deep lows are all still intact.
There are a few cocksniffer pedals that have me interested. Warmpler is one. I have a kit clone of his Euphoria Overdrive pedal. That is supposed to be a Dumble amp in a pedal. I want to see if I can hear the crystal lattice tones within. I wonder what a crystal lattice sounds like but really it's just supposed to be a versatile overdrive with a big range of clipping. Clean to almost fuzzy is appealing to me. Also want to try some Analogman. The Sun Face in particular. I love the Ge Fuzz Face tone a lot so that really has my interest. An El Capistan is on my gas list also.

It's about utility and what sounds you can get out of it over just pissing up flagpoles about how much you spent on it, just to play SRV covers or be lame-dick David Gilmour impersonator of the week. We are real people. We like real sounds. We sniff real dicks.
made my day
i'm glad i can call you a friend. even if i'll never see you again

I find that lately I've been curious about Cornish. I'm curious mostly because I can't find gut shots and they cost so fucking much it's insane. I almost want to buy one just too look inside of it. But then that's total cocksniffing. Plus I would never keep the pedal. OR WOULD I?
I've also been interested in a Klon KTR...I know...I know...I just want to see what the big fucking deal is.
haha don't do it bro i can get behind an echoczar but cornish? you going all tgp up in here.
Well I don't think I would but I kind of curious about it. Just to see you know? WHY do they cost so much? I don't get it. They look awful. I've never heard a good demo for one? SO why??? I thought maybe there was leprechaun shit in it or something...
Also, I've tried a Babershop. They are not that great. I probably would never actually buy a Klon but we are talking about cocksniffing right?
