Microbrute vs Minibrute
What are the main differences? Other than price. Are the mini keys on the microbrute playable?

I prefer the Microbrute for the mod matrix and sequencer. There are also issues with the keybed on Minibrutes. And, if you're gonna spend Minibrute kinda money, the Bass Station II is a better choice. Roland JD-Xi, better yet!

google?
I don't own a microbrute but I've played it a few times at Guitar Center. I owned a Microbrute briefly but didn't just it enough to justify keeping it. You have more options with the Microbrute - after touch. Envelope and ADSR on the Microbrute. Different modes for the filter, etc.
The Micro is fun to play. I would use it for fast playing. I'd just control it via midi sequence or use it for chill playing.
I'm not a regular synth user or user of these synths so I can't offer as much as others can.

I traded my microbrute because it couldn't get mellow enough for me. That and the iPad.

The mini patch bay and the small size are good points for the Micro in my opinion.

Re: Microbrute vs Minibrute
I have the Microbrute and like it for what it is, a small, portable, and very tweakable monosynth. The fact that it sounds amazing and I can fit the Micro, Beatstep, a delay and cords into a laptop backpack make it a must have. The keys are very usable, even with my big paws. I wouldn't bother getting the Minibrute, the Micro covers the same ground and for Minibrute money I want something a bit more flexable.blakestree wrote:I prefer the Microbrute for the mod matrix and sequencer. Re: Microbrute vs Minibrute
This is basically what I was coming in here to say. The microbrute is an awesome monosynth and first synth, and the patchable mod matrix gives you a ton of options for weirder sounds if you're into drone and such. Also it makes it super interactive with other cheap CV gear.Rob Fossil wrote:I have the Microbrute and like it for what it is, a small, portable, and very tweakable monosynth. Sorry, I should've searched before I made the thread. I'm sure this is a common topic so I apologize.

Haha, no worries mate, I wasn't referring to that! I actually, really had that feeling. I read the thread and I was thinking "I read this before, where is the new comment that got this up on the page?" Then I checked the dates of the posts and was having a very distinct WTF moment.
