Yeah, I love running for myself too, I'm definitely not at a competitive level and have no intention of competing, I just love pushing myself and being out there. I also don't like music, I've never tried it and I have no desire to as it would take me out of the experience and it's kinda dangerous if there's cars around.

When you get into that zone some of the way through a long run where you feel like you could go forever and it's just you and the road... music would wreck that.

What I want to do now the weather is improving around here is get into fell running. I'd do it more anyway but when there isn't much daylight and most of my runs are after work there's no time to drive anywhere nicer to run.

Does running away from meth heads trying to rob you count? That's the only running I do. I'm too lazy for running. I won't even run to catch a bus or train. There will be another one sooner or later.

Love that post-run satisfaction. It sets me up in a good mood for the rest of the day like nothing else.

I was reading about "intervals" on the internet and so started doing sprints, such as I can, on the flat parts. Working those in a couple times a week and so far, no injuries. It's the injuries that suck and fear of them definitely cramps my ambition. I would rather have the mood stabilization from running everyday than actually be good at running.

Definitely agree with you there. I'm currently building up my speed and getting better, but at the end of the day the love of running is why I do it so if I started worrying about or actually hurting myself by training I would chill it out and know my level. That's the nice thing about running as a hobby, it's only for you so you can take it at whatever pace is comfortable.

^^^

I want to start running a bit more again. I used to run between 4-8 miles a few times a week, but have substituted it for gymnastic strength training. However I've developed tendonitis in an arm so it looks like a good time to get my running stamina back. I probably won't go for more than 3ish miles any more than 2-3 times a week.

I really miss that feeling of solitude while running on a long trail next to a river.... Too bad that's back in the town I moved out of :/

Running in a city kind of suuuuucks

I've been on and off working on C25k since January. I'm happy now that its warmer and is not dark by the time I get off of work and I'm hoping it is easier to stick to a schedule. I'm only on week 6 but I've gotten sick twice and had a couple weeks off here and there because life but I'm still going! Usually end up at about 3-4k at the end of the 30 min runs so I'm guessing my 5k will be well over 30 min by the time I'm done. Pretty much the first time ever running just because since gym class so definitely not experienced but I'd like to get to the point where I could go 15k a week without any trouble

What's c25k dude?

Going to do my first interval session for the season on Wednesday. Light run tomorrow. Looking forward to Wednesday in a morbid way

Jwar we should fight. I would run away then when your muscly ass gets tired/bored I would run back, kick you twice in the nuts and nick your double elements.

Couch to 5k!
Where I started: http://www.c25k.com/
The plan: http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml

When I got started, I was just going out trying to be healthy and junk. When I started reading stuff after I felt like I wasn't total nooby anymore, I noticed c25k pop up all over the place so I thought I'd give it a shot!

Went for a run for the first time since october yesterday. Did a lot better than I expected, but still nowhere near my prime :D
Personally I mostly run nowadays to get some kind of exercise. When it comes to just running I can only do it for 50mins tops, after that I get bored and feel like it's a waste of time. However, team sports and stuff, when there's a ball involved, I'll literally run till I throw up or get a cramp. Which always means a lot more than 50mins :D
