danelectro fuzz wtf?!

Ok, so I just got the 2010 musiciansfriend buyer's guide catalog and it seems as though danelectro's new cf-2 cool cat fuzz is now twice the price of the frantone peach fuzz ripoff cf-1! It's $60, while the old one was $30. Anybody know anything about this? Did they actually change the circuit any (copyright issues?) or did they just change the name and double the price now that their secret is out?

A) what would cause a company to hike up the price of a product by 100%

and B) if it actually was a different circuit or just a new name to justify a drastic price change.

The very first successful mod I ever did was on a crappy old Fab Echo, which I then re-housed and gave to a friend as a gift. I wouldn't buy their stuff brand new but if a used pedal comes my way for <$20, I'm not gonna say no. They make for fun little weekend projects.
