Ibnz Modulation Delay = wacked!

Found an Ibanez DML-10 Modulation Delay the other day at a pawn shop for $40...

seemingly innocuous-looking late'80's 'DIGITAL' (back when they printed that on the pedals like it was a big deal, state-of-the-art thing) pedal on the outside, but several of the settings are totally insane... delays with warped modulation and - get this - seemingly random changing of pitch and delay time, as if there's a phantom invisible hand turning the knobs on this thing while yr playing....!?!?!?

anybody else come across one of these? It's truly twisted, especially for an Ibanez of that period.
