Guyatone Torrid Fuzz TZ m5 - what do you think? [soundcloud]

Post by AC128 »

edit: different cabinet, different guitar
Epiphone ES-339 P90

Framus Diablo

just some noodling.
the sound is a profile of the Guyatone Torrid Fuzz in the great "negative Phase" setting.
I added a subtle analog octave (-1) that is being ducked and comes in at the quieter notes/when notes fade out,
also a tiny bit of delay and reverb.

I switch from a SD JB to a SSL-1 and back to the JB.

sounds really compressed and doesn't seem to have much energy but thats probably cause of my computer speakers. i like the octave down.

Sounds awesome, but I like my fuzz a lot less conventional, less distortion-y. With a tad more gain/gate/octave or whatever, to get less of a generic blues/hardrock tone. Still though, sounds like got more chops than me.

it sounded okay but kind of digital fuzzy and not, like unca said, a lot of "energy"
the pedal does sound that way.
it's just pedal -> IR so there is no tube amp in between to make things more spongy/pleasant.

the lack of energy is due to my choice of IR and I actually rolled of some bass, to have the sound mix-ready for my needs.
it does ruin the whole solo guitar goodness factor a bit, I suppose ;)

I added a new clip

I like it, got that cool scrambly thing going on with chords, and I think it's like you mentioned in that post, the first clip sounds to me like it'd be perfect in a whole mix but a little thin on its own. I get it, because I spend all my time jamming alone trying to get things to sound as big as possible, then a lot of time recording I'm undoing all that because there are other instruments to fill it out.
