I got some 10mm's from Radio Shack because they were a good price. Would just a normal 2.2k resistor be sufficient for these or would I need a different resistor? I'd try different ones without asking but don't want to burn them up.
Also OMG this page.

They'll work fine :thumb:
I really wish the Radio Shacks here would begin their shutdown sale already. They have a bunch of overpriced stuff I want

Ours here in Maryland (or at least the ones in my part of Maryland) have gone through their sales and actually closed already. I was also up in Lehighton, PA which had one that went through their sales and closed too

That's the impression I've been getting from you guys, but mine don't even have a hint of going away. "Small" town thing I guess. We still have a Kmart (which I thought went under years ago).

First fully completed pedal! It's a ruiner clone on vero, and it's sound awesome. Box had a bunch of holes in it to start with, but I guess it turned out alright. Knobs are whatever I found in a drawer.

Fuckin' Hell

What's the capacitance on it?

Its the voltage rating that is why its that size. I imagine it is like 600v or something like that.

It kicks ass though! I actually like vero more than pcb. I've "built" a fuzz face that just won't work and troubleshooting it is a real bummer. With vero all you gotta do is check the layout and cut the tracks and your done. Or maybe I haven't bored into the real pains of vero yet.

Also, laughed so hard at that capacitor vs pcb rating, no offense

No offense taken. :)*

It was a very important lesson to learn when buying parts for a build.

There's no way you can leave that out now, though.
More capacitor. More tone.

Just use some jumper wires and cut a notch out of the top the enclosure for it to sit in. I think that massive, exposed capacitors are going to become the new external clipping LEDs.

Hello everyone,

This is my first post here, so I thought I might share my first, and currently only working, pedal build. (I may need some help on the second build, a Catalinbread V8 Fuzz Engine kit.). But my first build is a BYOC ESV 2 knob bender:

I'm loving this forum by the way, especially this thread. Very inspiring!

Cool paint job dude. How does it sound? If it sounds as good as it looks you're on to a winner there. :thumb:

Thanks. I brought out my inner Jackson Pollock for this, though I don't think he used Krylon and Testor's model paint much.

The pedal sounds great. It can get kind of dark and sputtery when stacked with an overdrive, which is very cool. It also works great with delay, like the Echorec I just bought. I like how it sounds with bass too.

Just finished my first scratch build!! :!!!:

Stutterkill (1).jpg

Stutterkill (2).jpg

Stutterkill (3).jpg

It's a Borderlands Psycho themed stutter/kill, so not terribly complicated, but still useful, and looks badass..probably cooler than a circuit this simple has a right to. Strip the Flesh is the killswitch, Salt the Wound is the stutter. I used a momentary 3pdt so the eyes would blink. I might up the LED resistor, because they are bright as hell.

And, my Mad Moxxi fuzz should be done in a day or two :!!!:
