Octave pedals that can handle full chords?

I'm looking for an octave pedal to beef up my guitar. The first pedal that comes to mind is the Micro POG but it's like $200 used??? What the hell?! It's been out FOREVER.

Are there any good alternatives? The Boss MO-2 looks neat. It's a hell of a lot cheaper, but I don't know if it'll handle like the Micro POG. There's also the Boss OC-3 but I have no idea how the tracking is on that thing.

Any other ideas or should I just try to snag a micro pog?

The pitchfork handles chords pretty well. It's supposedly the same circuit as a POG I think?

Boss oc3 is the only pedal I've ever flipped after just a day. It didn't track well at all, or at least not how I expected it to. There was only one setting for polyphonic, and it didn't work well. Especially on low strings.

The Ring Thing is another option that can do octaves among many other things for the price of a micro pog.

The BOSS OC-3 sounds best in the monophonic and the drive mode. It has a wonderful overdrive sound when plugged into the bass guitar input. I can recommend it as a good bass overdrive pedal.

Apart from that I also don't like the poly mode too much. It has the nice opportunity to set the range for the octave effect so you can play fat octaved power chords and play unaffected solo lines with the higher strings - that's overall a really cool feature. But the range cannot be set for the full fretboard which is really dumb. The higher you play the thinner effect becomes, because the more it reaches the set threshold, it decreases the octave effect volume for these notes. Meh. And polyphonic doesn't mean that you can play Amaj7 or (something like that) and get a decent Amaj7 an octave below. It works rather duophonic. But that's enough for me, because this can already sound muddy in many situations.

I don't know what the price on the new nano pog will be (yes that is actually a thing now) it could see the price of second hand micros drop too.

But the pitchfork tracks about as well as the micro pog and is much cheaper, as long as you don't need separate up and down blend...

i like the oc3 a lot, and only use the poly mode. sounds extra dope with keyboards. sounds good to me with guitar too? i tried using a behringer us600 / boss ps5 and having all the notes pitched down didn't sound as cool to me having only the lower notes an octave down as in the oc3. to each their own.

My problem is that the poly mode doesn't offer operation without that limited frequency range. Apart from that I'm really happy with the OC-3.

Almost blew a gasket; I had no idea about the nano pog. It's listed for presale at Anderton's UK and their price translates to about $165 US, perhaps less since we don't have as many taxes as the UK.

All i need is a sub octave. Not really interested in upper octave stuff much.

If you only want down tuning, the Digitech Drop is great, as well.

The Drop looks neat but the Pitch Fork definitely looks like a better deal to me. Price is the biggest thing killin me and $180 for a pedal that just drop tunes is a little much.
