I like new Alice in Chains, precisely because they didn't try to replace Layne at all. It's different and doesn't have the same raw emotional pull as their Layne stuff but the new stuff is good music.
I thought so too...
Agreed on AIC.
Also, with COC.
And Church of Misery did well a couple of times....until recently when they called it quits.
WWPD?

I generally prefer the all out weirdness and cheese of DLR.
The dude is/was a paramedic as well. I have huge respect for that.
I prefer George In Cannibal I guess because that was the era I grew up on.
Kinda the same with Barney in Napalm, it was the stuff I was introduced to, so it stuck with me more.

I was always a sucker for Hot For Teacher, though.
You got me there dude. Freaking love that song. Drummer in my band (well, ex drummer as of yesterday, God damn it) is a big VH fan and we'd warm up every now and again with hot for teacher.
Hmm... This wasn't as clear cut as I thought.
Apropos fails: Gary Cherone.
WTF?

That’s quarter-assed at best.
Bon Scott AC/DC was fucking awesome. All the early albums had originality and humour to them. The first album with Brian Johnson Back in Black was good. Since then they have made that same Back in Black album at least 20 fucking times. Too scared to take risks. No guts no glory in my opinion.

All the Opeth albums have Akerfelt on them. So was there a period before that he wasn't singing? EP or singles or something?
I've heard the new AIC singer do a few of the old songs (youtube), he sounds pretty good, but I haven't really listened to any of their new material with him.

Nope! David Isberg was 1990-1992. During that time Mikael played guitar. He was there since the beginning and they didn't do a studio album until after Mikael.

Barney Napalm is way better than Lee Dorrian Napalm.
I also kinda prefer Van Hagar. I'm not sure I should admit that...
Hahaha. Six Feet Under had like one good album. The rest were fucking AWFUL. I told you the Cannibal Corpse thing is highly debatable. hahaha.

I saw the new AIC live -- in that environment, the inflection and tonality is straight up eerie. Wasn't familiar with the new songs, though/
I am going to add No Doubt (they are effin' awful, and probably better with the original guy, but you know, success is how some people are measured) and Zolar X.
Stiff Little Fingers is a wierd one because there is also XSLF that is the band and the singer guy hired people to play in SLF. Both are doing quite well right now. I actually hear that XSLF is a better band whereas when I saw SLF, it felt like a terrible cash in.
My friend grew up with Napalm Death and then he kinda got separated from them and then heard Scum and was like "What the hell, they were a punk band?".
