Arion DDM 1 = awesome?

Post by Phengren Oswald »

Arion Digital Delay….anybody have one?

I have an Arion Stereo Analog Delay….and it's great.
I just got (based on another thread) the Arion Stereo
Compressor but I haven't had the opportunity to plug it in
yet.
Now, I'm reading good things about the digital delay…and they are also
super cheap online..

What's the deal? Is it basically because of the cheap enclosures that
the Arion pedals go for not many dollars?
I'm becoming slightly obsessed with them…

Well, they used to cost like $20 brand new if that does anything for you  but yea good circuits over all. I've had a few. Most were cheaply made in taiwan.

The reason is that we *hated* them at the time.

I'm still not fond of them, I've never seen one that didn't make my signal sound like unimaginable poop.

Arion was that store brand that you got when Uncle Ernie wanted to ram it home on your birthday.

But cheap is good and if it works for you...

oh yea, if I was concerned about good tone and non-suckage I probably wouldn't give
these things a second glance. But for the most part, I'm pretty into hiss and murk and
sound degradation and all that jazz so these things are right up my alley...

I love all three of those things, but on demand, not as a matter of course!
