That's a shitty analogy. Seriously, borderline disgusting.
Let's just focus on how Eventide is failing at making people want to give them money, please.

I'm offending people again. I'm such a cunt. Really I don't know how I can live with myself or sleep at night. :idk:
I'm sure we can focus on that and waste a whole lot of time talking about what arseholes Eventide are or we can stick by an ILF bro and help him get what he's already paid for. I would much rather do something about it than just talk about it.

In short: KaosCill8er = good peeps -> bro (no, not brony, I think), Eventide = bad fucks -> no bro (maybe brony, I dunno)

Srry for you dude, best of luck resolving this shit.

That sort of crap was exactly the reason what at the last minute made me decide NOT to get a H9. I never got used to buying itunes mp3s, so I'm sure as hell not ready to let that type of shady marketing bullshit take over my pedalboard. Digital effects are one thing, but if I'm ever downloading algorythms or toneprints or whatever, they'll better be cheaper than the non-nonsense old school alternative. Hell, for the price of a new H9 the very least I would expect was decent customer service.

I kinda wish you were my uncle, Kaos.

Seriously though, you've already paid for the update-thingys, right? So you own them, they're your property, *more pleonasms*. I would think the part were you can only use them on five devices should be security enough to avoid anyone maxing out several H9s and selling them for a profit. :idk:

Just got off the phone with Eventide, I explained I understood their position and totally get what they mean, but asked why I can't upgrade, like pay to upgrade. I was told it was intended for their previous owners of the H9 and that if you were going to want a Max most people would purchase that as opposed to buying a lesser unit and upgrading. I told the lady their wordage is very unclear and they need to redo it so that others are not mistaken and purchase lesser units thinking they can upgrade. I also told her that I don't understand why it makes any sense for me to send the unit back to the dealer and repurchase another item. Literally makes no sense.

I just don't get it. Their tech support sucks and they obviously are not willing to help me at all. She suggested I contact Jerome in support and I told her "yea no thanks, he was very rude to me yesterday".

I'm done. Going to return it. Can't believe how bad their service is. On the one side I understand what they are saying on the other side I think they are complete idiots and ought to make shit clear to their purchasers. I'm half tempted to put out a report on the Better Business Bureau website about them, trouble is, I'm not even sure they are on there.

Honestly I don't get it. With iTunes I can have one of their DRM songs on (I think) up to 5 devices, and that's a pretty decent way to handle it, though I also avoid DRM as much as possible.

Part of me understands them not wanting to lose that potential revenue (since I imagine H9s are not selling by the hundreds of thousands), but on the flip side they are DEFINITELY alienating a customer. While the internet has been a wonderful place where they can sell their algos without stressing about physical distribution, but it's also a place where an unhappy customer can share their horror stories. They dropped the ball on this and dropped it badly.

I had been mentally flirting with getting a H9 (I do so want a harmonizer), but now will look elsewhere.
