Active pickups.(Alembics) Battery pretends to hide.
Neck tone wired WFO. Neck volume blends in.
Plastic piece around the Quan is homemade. An experiment of sorts.
I'll probably switch back to the stock one after I fool around with different saddles.

Got to love a Rickenbacker 4001. They aren't just a bass, they are a work of art in design. Nothing else comes even close.

Totally agreed. My buddy had a Ric that he put the hipshot replacement on - I liked it better than the original.

My only personal issue is no mute… I actually use those on my rics… and they don't like as pimp'n… other than that I love hipshot's stuff :thumb:

Ha! I have a Badass on my Rick too! Or, uh, I would if the whole bass weren't in pieces right now. Sigh.

2015 is the year I get my Rick up and running again. Gotta be. Gotta be.

I wish. I ordered a Nelson bass over a year ago. Still pretty damn hyped for it though.

No. :( I really want one but don't have the cash (or do, but keep spending it on other stuff). I'm toying with the idea of ordering a custom build because I could pay the deposit and knowing it's coming up would force me to save. But I'm not 100% sure what I'm looking for so that seems a bit silly maybe... All I want at the end of the day is a simple bass that feels and sounds nicer than my current one, Fender probably make something perfect for me already.

^Awesome! Nelsons look super cool.

Went out to Nazareth Guitar Institute for their 3 day electric workshop over the weekend and built myself this little Sweet P:

Lollar vintage wind split coil pickup

Pretty stoked on this guy!

Crappy old phone pic. '75 Precision and '80 4001. They're not mine yet as I borrowed them about a year and a half ago from a really cool dude under the condition that I fixed them up and took care of them. I mentioned I was going to switch to bass and he told me he'd give be a good deal for them. I should be making an offer soon, hopefully.
