Michael Norris' SoundMagic Spectral has some cool stuff in it that I've enjoyed playing around with. Some of it is hyper digital versions of existing effects and some seems, to me at least, completely new.

WTF, seriously? I bought a HM-2 for $80, and I think it's OK for that price.
Buying a new copy for $250+ is fucking lame.

I think that the Big Muff and Rat and Tubescreamer market is super saturated, and Boss pedals, while they have a place, don't need to be praised or idolized.

If though a handmade small build run of anything else was made, that's cool as fuck, and droolworthy maybe.

Dude! I just don't like old shit! Redoing old circuits is fine as long as they are improving them.

For instance a lot of "vintage" effects either run on a fucking 9v or have some dumb power cord permanently affixed to it. That shit is archaic. 9v's ought to be a thing of the past and those supplies aren't even properly rated. LOL. Fuck all that noise.

Plus people like to charge a premium for "this has vintage mojo". Give me a break. You fucking muff or tubescreamer is not unique or better sounding because it's old. It's out of date and should be put in a bin somewhere.

This is how I feel at least. I respect the old stuff for being innovative at the time, but I'm one of those people that believe digital is the future.

Aidan Baker (Nadja) makes good use of a CH-1. If someone included a version of that circuit along with derivatives of the rest of his pedals into one enclosure or something, is consider grabbing that

I used a HM2 as my only dirt box for over 10 years back when you couldn't give them away. Dialing in the basic sound is relatively easy on the #3 or #4 setting, and it goes well, well, well beyond Swedish chainsaw. It goes into splatter without being fuzz.
