Hey guys,
Just wanting to get into the small analog synth/drum machine/Volca game and not sure what I should start with. I'm really wanting the sample to create my own sounds with but I'm trying to find a good companion. Any suggestions?
Korg Monotribe/Korg Volca Sample/Good to start with?

What are you trying to do with it?
If you are only going for drum sounds, get the volca beats. Its fantastic, more controls and you can store more samples.
If you are trying to go for a bit of everything, get the monotribe. However, the storing function is rather lackluster, but its a lot of fun to play.

If you're getting a Volca Sample (good choice, nice little machine) and you want to stay in the same family, I'd say something like the Volca Keys would be a good choice. You can easily sync them together, the Keys sounds really nice, has a good sequencer and is paraphonic (3 oscillators but 1 filter/VCA) so you can get nice chords, etc.
Getting the Beats and the sample would be more redundant I think.

I was kind of explaining to someone that I was wanting to achieve the Radiohead type glitchy sounds, and I also noticed the sample allows you to pitch bend stuff which I thought was cool. I'm wanting to create sounds you would hear on an MBV coda or something like that. So it sounds to me like the keys would probably be the way to go along with the sample?
