I'm working on a Bit,and apparently lost my R8, a 10k resistor. No big, i can find one, but i have on hand a 10k 1/2 watt resistor....aside from being huge, will this work? Change the sound? Or should i find a 1/4watt one like the rest of the circuit?

I think you're on the right track. I think it's wired correctly. In going to check out the solder joints on the switch. I think one of them may be a cold joint making a partial connection. I'll let you know.

Alright. .who's got a Bit gut shot? I think i mounted my pots on the wrong side of the board (over the small parts )

Thanks Nocentelli I found a cold joint on one of the lugs of the bypass switch. I re-soldered it and my Hyperion is working great. Now I'm sorry I didn't buy a couple different pedals from the sale.

It won't change the circuit at all, go ahead and use it.CyaNitrate wrote:I'm working on a Bit,and apparently lost my R8, a 10k resistor. The pots mount on the same side of the board that you soldered on. (the blank side with no components).CyaNitrate wrote:Alright. .who's got a Bit gut shot? I think i mounted my pots on the wrong side of the board (over the small parts )

Re: DEVI EVER KITS
Thanks for the circuit help! Finished it up last night and it all works! It's the Bit into the Hyperion. It's been a while since I've played through Devi circuits(I know they're quirky) but I've never played through these two until now.. so two things:
-the Hyperion pre kills the signal when turned all the way down (counterclockwise)
-the Bit pre seens backwards...full counterclockwise is full-bore and it mellows as it goes clockwise
Normal?
In any case, it works. Now I get to tear it apart and finish the box with some awesome Borderlands graphics...will post when finished.

Re: DEVI EVER KITS
For some reason the new Bit board is "designed" with a backwards texture pot. Dumb as hell. You could swap lugs 1 & 3 to fix that but its board mounted already so i wouldn't bother. Glad you got it sorted. Add a VFM and you have my DEFX trifecta.CyaNitrate wrote:Thanks for the circuit help! Finished it up last night and it all works! It's the Bit into the Hyperion. Re: DEVI EVER KITS
Interesting...and kinda funny seeing as how I had the pots mounted backwards to begin with, but then the Volume would have been backwards. I understand the need/use for board mounted pots, but man are they a bitch to desolder... Much prefer solder lugs and running wire. And yes, I'd love another VFM, I had the circuit in a Rocket I had for a while, and enjoyed that side far more than the SM side.

Re: DEVI EVER KITS
I have the hyp and vfm and I'm pumped as hell
Started soldering the hyp board today and it went okaaaaaaaay
Does it matter if the lugs of a transistor like the 2n2907a are touching? I buggered up that one and its sort of clumped together, since they are from the same component does it matter? Probably but I just thought I'd check in case before I undo it

Re: DEVI EVER KITS
My immediate though is yes, because each leg does something different (I dunno what, I just know, one is emitter, one is collector, and one is base) and on certain devi circuits (VFM and SM) flipping the Q4 turns one into the other....So my noob brain says they shouldn't touch.

Re: DEVI EVER KITS
Tested my Noise floor kit and got weird results. Is there supposed to be another ground to the board? The kit says to put one of the pots to the gnd spot on board but testing with my multimeter shows that nothing on the board has ground.
When testing led works. I get a metranome like click and every now and then I can get some fuzz to come out.
Let me know if this makes sense I can put up a pic if you need it.
