vox dynamic looper scrub setting

Post by alexsga »

does anyone know where i can find a demo of the vox dynamic looper scrub setting? seems really cool, and similar to something the antinautilus might be able to achieve:
“Scrub” I know there’s folk who are going to love this. Regular playback is suspended and playback is of repeated chunks of sound taken from a place in the loop based on the position of the pedal. Chunk size is variable by a knob (after hitting loop fx button). Like all post-fx it’s possible to re-sample the result.

I sold mine recently but from what I remember it does just what the paragraph above says. Basically loops a small portion of the loop and the position of the expression pedals determines the start point. A knob is used to set the microloop length relative to the total length (i.e 1/2, 1/4th, 1/8th, 1/16th, etc.) It's a nice effect in a nice looper/pedal. I mostly sold mine because there was no way to sync it to an incoming clock but apart from that it's pretty cool. With the smaller chunk size you can get simple typical granular effects (with only one grain, location controlled by foot) : slomo, reverse, etc. As there's just one grain it does sound a bit rough but it's just a bonus effect anyway...

if i understand the description properly the timefactor can do the same thing using the start/end loop points. those can also be controlled via expression pedals if you like.
