This is my semi-annual "I miss this thread" post. Anything new in the world of drone? I've been trying to set up a new spot for recording in my house but it's been too slow. Hopefully it'll be up and running by spring. I need to mix and master some of the stuff I have and release it.

Dude, you should be. This shit is so fun, I just picked up a 4 step sequencer to control it/my volca keys with and I'm hoping between the 3 I can get some really weird and complex drones going.
Unrelated, any opinions on matrix mixers? I've been considering one because I use two feedback loops in my setup already and it's taking up tons of room on my other mixer. whats the difference between using that and a standard mixer?
Any tips for droning in large groups? I've been trying to get a 3-guitarist 2-bassist drone group off the ground and all that's been accomplished so far is we've potentially added a drummer. The dream is there though.

Read up on chord theory and intervals and be careful with voicings. Also you'll need less volume individually than you think.
