Aesthetics are important to me too.

I hate the push for ever-smaller boxes, give me big unwieldy things.

I love the old EHX enclosures (even if I don't own any right now...), I'm really into the enclosures of both my Foxrox CC Hybrid and W&C Box of War.

I know people seem to go gaga for the new, smaller enclosures on the EQD Grand Orbiter and Sea Machine but it's kind of a turn-off for me. I've wanted to pick up an Orbiter for ages, when I do I'm determined to hunt out the larger enclosure.

I am a fan of big boxes. I hate that they make the fuzz face but refuse to update it with a 9v jack. I want a big-sounding fuzz to be in a box bigger than Original Big Muff. I dont really play out much. Size is no objet, so may as well hav pedals be imposing. Like, a couple TC and then something 4x bigger. With a couple knobs and one footswitch.

I don't have a tech and I'm too lazy to unplug everything, versus the socket my pedal board plugs into is controlled by a light switch. I'd go through hella batteries and have to change them all anytime I felt like playing.

Same, If it doesn't have a dc jack I dismiss a pedal immediately. One time a buddy had an analogman sun face, it had no led and no dc jack HOW DO YOU LIVE.

Having flashy artwork is no big deal for me. Would actually prefer pedals with no artistic flair. It is all about the sound for me. Fairfield Circitry pedals are what I love in a pedal design. Also what others have said about dc sockets. It must have one, and be standard centre negative as well.

I get where you're coming from, but I'm in four bands, play 5-10 shows per month, and tour about 3 times a year. Practicality and to a certain extent uniformity helps me out a ton. That being said, I have a minifooger trem and it has the best of both worlds, practical and with a unique, great looking enclosure.

well, going from say a $12 Hammond enclosure to a custom design is pretty expensive. Even forking out $39 for a Rixen enclosure eats into profit margins..

Yeah, the current mini enclosure trends is just SAD to me. Everything looks like Mooer's doesn't matter what pedals they are. Although it's not practical, I'm just a big fan of giant & absurd boxes and artworks. I bet most of mxr sized pedals have hardly any values in the future in collector's perspective, cos more and more prettier pedals with basically almost the same sound will rise.

That's just my sad, moronic and silly prediction. FX types & techs can only grow so much in short period of time, so they will have to compete in designs to grab ppl's attention and business since there are more and more builders in the industry.

problem solved, and I imagine the reverse is possible too (running a battery into a dc jack on a pedal without a battery option) provided the tip polarity was correct.
