I almost necrobumped a three year old superfuzz thread, but figured I might as well make a new thread.
I've had some serious GAS building up for a FY-6 and/or FY-2, so I figured this would be the pedal to get without leaving me completely bankrupt or in need of selling some gear.
If you own or used to own one; what do you think of it? Pros and cons? Should I look elsewhere? I mean, to me it sounds pretty spot on (from what I can tell from a non-miked up youtube video), if only a little bit brighter/sharper/more aggressive.

I have one. I am not good with comparisons and describing sounds but it is nasty as heck and loud as a mofo. The only similar pedal I had was the Wattson EFY6 and I didn't like that as much as the Frederic. Although I Iike the fy2 sound better in general than the fy6 so maybe that has something to do with it. Also, I don't have any scientific basis for this, but something just didn't seem "cool" about the Wattson. Shallow I know, but that's how I am.

I have it and love it. Only use the FY-2 side though. Fy-6 is not for me.
Pros: it sounds great.
Cons : not very tweakable, but that doesnt really matter. + the knobs in the front makes midsong adjustments with toes very hard.

Nah, I've actually been gassing over most of duder's product line. Never bought anything though.

myrrh is letting me borrow his. Awesome!
I was actually leaning more towards the FY-6 sound of the unit, so it will be interesting to see what I make of it, seeing as neither of the posters so far has found it extremely pleasing.

To make sure we're on the same page, I am not saying the FY6 on this unit sounds bad to me or bad in general. I am just saying I prefer the sound of an FY2 to the sound of an FY6 which is why I am probably enjoying this pedal in comparison to the Wattson EFY 6 which doesn't have the FY2 circuit. I just like the FY2 type of fuzz better in general.UglyCasanova wrote:

Yeah, we're on the same page. It's just that both of you prefered the FY-2 side, so I jumped to conclusions and read too much into it.

I used to own one, and if you want both of those fuzzes in one box I'd go for it. I have an original FY-2 and the FY-2 part of the SUC compared very favorably. Not quite as trebly as the original, but only by a hair. FY-6 side was great too, though I didn't have anything to compare it to at the time.
