stupid synth question with midi.
well i pulled the trigger on a microbrute and a pocket piano. now was i retarded in buying the micro brute? because i really wanted to trigger the pocket piano's sounds with the microbrute. i guess i assumed the microbrute had a midi in/out like the minibrute. and while reading up on midis and such the microbrute only has a midi in and if im correct that would mean i could trigger the brute with the pocket piano, but i wanted to do it the other way around. sooooooo noob question i know but yea. is there a way for me to trigger the pocket pianos sounds with the brute?

Re: stupid synth question with midi.
The Microbrute has MIDI out only through the USB connector it seems. Which is fine to control something on a laptop for example but not so much for the Pocket Piano. It also has CV/Gate outputs, but I don't think the Pocket Piano has CV inputs...
There are devices that can act as USB hosts and have MIDI outputs but that'd be a convoluted and expensive solution to your problem I think.
It seems to be possible to add a MIDI out to the brute though, but it'll require some soldering :

I have no experience with either piece of gear, but just be stoked on what they can do alone and together already. No sense in getting bummed out about perceived lack of compatibility. Just try them out as they are before dropping more funds and time on trying to make them something they aren't. Just my thoughts.

o im completely excited!! trust me!!! i just wanted to be able to use the micro as a controller. i saw some youtube videos of people using the minibrute to trigger the pocket pianos sounds and tbh thats really what pushed me to buy the microbrute. i love bass synths but i figured with the pocket piano added it just would be a million times more versatile. ill just get an a/b box and play with them separately for awhile and if my guy cant do the upgrade and i absolutely feel like i need a midi out ill prob spring and buy a minibrute.
