So their album Fantasy Black Channel is one of the best albums I've heard in awhile. Album is timeless. Definitely is part of my top 5 albums now, joining Piper at the Gates of Dawn and Madvilliany.

The album didn't get a lot of attention in the States, which is cool since inevitably there'd be six bands trying to copy it. The album is really interesting, because it's all dance songs, but they're very eclectic. Weird times attributed to the fact that they weren't aware of how to play their instruments. It kicks off with a really awesome cheese-ball Queen-esque riff and goes into something completely different. The amount of new sounds they work with is admirable. I'm curious as to how they'll follow this up, considering it's a start-to-finish album. Some of the songs indulge on some kind of epic journey. Bathroom Gurgle goes through so many different motions that you wonder if it's the same song. VW is an instrumental segue into Focker which is my favorite track on the album. Ever since I heard it, I've been pursuing a octave pedal to match with a fuzz to replicate that tone. I'm pretty sure they used a synth but it's hard to tell, good either way.

I can't really hear the King Crimson, but I've only listened to their first album so I dunno.
