Which model?

I had the Gibson GA-15rv for a while - basically a rebranded late model Trace. Loved that amp, desert island clean sustain feedback machine.

Sold it. :picard:

We had one in the rehearsal space that our bassist would use every once in a blue moon. I frigging loved the sound. Such a nice round rumble, reminded me of a Reggae sort of sound. Lovely.

I did not tell you? Basically the only thing I know about bass amps is that I love Trace Elliott.

Yup, it was the Velocette, what the Goldtones were based on. Mine was the 10" model, but I'd love to try the RV model, it has a 12" right? Did you use the reverb on it much? I think there's also a single-ended model but I've never seen one online.

TBH, it was a decade ago and I didn't have it long  but I do remember liking the reverb.

Was there a single ended Velocette? I know there was the modern Gibson GA-5, on the market more or less the same time as the rest of the Trace made/designed Gibson GA-x series. The GA-5 was single ended, and a great little amp. Basically a gainy tweed circuit, similar to a 5F1. Were popular for awhile after MF/GC/etc blew them out for $299.

Yeah looks like it was called the Velocette SE. It's too bad they're so hard to come by, I'd love to try some of the other models sometime, your description of the GA-5 sounds awesome.
