I assume you saw them at Øyafestivalen? I was in Oslo at the time (konen min er norsk) but I just couldn't justify the price. Was happy to get the chance to see them in Chicago when they came back, since I also waited too long on the Pitchfork day passes and missed out on that.

Their light show was a trip and they sounded way better than I was expecting.
Your assumption is correct, good sir. Their live sound was great, impressive since the stage they played at had awful acoustics. Great concert.

Mad jelly. Saw them for the first time on the "in solvent see" tour and have been dying to see them again.

Oh also saw Failure which was great but the video reel of their "influences" before the show and the scheduled 15 min intermission in an already short set was a little off putting.

Intermission was OK, video reel was slightly long, but I feel like they played for like two hours? Definitely enough performance for me. Their Fractal patches also sounded really, really good.

Saw them in Boston and it was easily one of the best shows I've been to in awhile.

Was also at that show. Actually a bunch of us were. Was super rad.

Others... Dino jr. Qotsa, Om.... I went to a bunch of shows last year but those are the easily remembered ones. Gojira. Russian Circles, too. Today Is The Day.

Yeah, Bigchiefbc was there. I skipped on it because I had seen them, and totally regret not going. D'oh.

Gonna have to think for a bit on best sets. That's always a toughie.

Gojira were indeed quite tight when I caught their set at a festival (that shall remain nameless).
Also good at that festival were Clutch, but when aren't they amazing?

For me - hands-down - the best set of 2014 was METZ @ Lee's Palace in Toronto.

I really dislike you right now. So much jealousy.

I didn't see a single show last year because children. First year since 1995 when I went to my first concert. Will have to rectify things this year.

My wife and I saw way too many shows this past year. A ton of good ones too. No particular order.

Boris at FYF (terrible festival overall though)
Giuda at Rebellion Festival Blackpool, England
Part1 at Rebellion Festival Blackpool, England
Subhumans (Culture Shock too) at Rebellion Festival Blackpool, England
Glen Matlock and the Philistines at Rebellion Festival Blackpool, England
Killing Joke at Rebellion Festival Blackpool, England
Beck at the Orpheum Los Angeles
Slim Cessna's Auto Club at The Echo Los Angeles (not their best, but they will always be in my top shows)
Empire of the Sun at Coachella and the Sunset Strip Music Fest
Toy Dolls at Coachella -> made the whole trip worth it
The Adicts at House of Blues Hollywood
Cattle Decapitation at the Sunset Strip Music Fest
Cheech and Chong at Festival Supreme (Dr. Demento was the best part but, it's not really a concert/show)
Forward at Jewel's Catch One Los Angeles
The World/Inferno Friendship Society at Los Globos Los Angeles

The biggest surprise: The Cravats at Rebellion Festival Blackpool, England
Worst: Ariel Pink and Julian Casablancas at the Wiltern...TERRIBLE
Finally: I got to see Penny and Eve from Crass do there free jazz thing. Closest I will ever get to seeing Crass, I guess.

I skipped Swans like 4 times last year...don't really know why. I get a second chance to see them at Coachella this year, I guess.

How's their live show these days? I was underwhelmed by the new LP, but back in the day there were few bands better at getting the ladies to shake it on the dance floor.
