I just got a vm jag and wanna swap the saddles out. I want a height adjustable mustang setup. As far as I know the only options for something like that is the warmoth modified mustang saddles and the graphtech tusq saddles. But I'm not sure which one to get. I also have seen the string savers but have heard really bad things about them so I think I'm gonna avoid those.
Do any of you who play a jag have a opinion between these two saddles?

On the Tusq saddles, I think I've read that the VM Jag and Jazzy do string grounding through the bridge, so if you go that way you'll want to relocate the ground wire to the tailpiece.

The Fender part is far superior. Don't bother with the knock-off, if you decide to go with one of these.
The problem I have found, though, is that the standard Mustang bridges do not have the correct string spacing. The Mustang bridge has 55mm string spacing, while the JM/Jag work best with 52mm string spacing. A lot of people seem fine with this, but I hated it, with the high E string often falling off the neck above the 12th fret.
For mine, I filed the inside saddles slightly to bring the strings together. You don't have to take off much-- fractions of a millimeter-- but you do need to be precise. The tension of the strings pulls the saddles together.
You still do need to lock the bridge with nail polish, teflon tape, or loctite, to prevent buzzing or gradual loosening.

Im trying to keep the cost under $50 otherwise I'd go with mastery or staytrem. That sucks to hear about the tusq saddles. I guess I'll stick with metal.
