I've had guitarists quit bands that I've been in saying "Well, with him around, you don't really need me." I don't think they meant it as a compliment, but I took it as one. I guess that's why I'm playing bass in a guitarless band now.

He also has an all Boss board and won't change it for the world, he takes his shoes off when he plays so that he doesn't get them dirty. AND (lol) he has his microphone on a boom stand to the side of him rather than the front so you can see his full body while playing. oh and I almost forgot, the guitar player (not singer) has been playing for maybe a year and a half (the singer basically told the other members of the band that they should start playing instruments so they could join his band) and his rig consists of like, a vintage Les Paul and a Twin Reverb!

This is wrong on so many, many levels. Kill it with fire, immediately. Actually, what you should do: wait until he leaves his bored somewhere, bring along a sodering iron, and remove his pedals innards and gently set them on top of the enclosures. Then remove the other guitarists' pickups, and neatly place them next to the guitar. Hilarity ensues.

Yeah the stuff that's called hardcore these days. Never understood how true hardcore turned into shitty metal that is produced like a mainstream pop record. Wtf? I wouldn't have a prob cuz I'd never hear it, but my roommate defines himself as a hardcore kid and literally listens to only that shit. I don't know how he can emotionally function with that type of lifestyle.

And the mainstream and indie thing is getting super tired. Alternative doesn't make sense anymore, punk doesn't make sense anymore, the aforementioned hardcore doesn't make sense anymore. And shoegazing never really made total sense to begin with.

And I'd take elitist snobbery over sheep any day. Though people who follow the mind set of being "different" by being the same as just another group of people are the sheep still. I just love talking to people who are passionate and snobbish about personal music tastes that has nothing to do with other people and cultures.

1) Metallica. Ever since the whole Napster thing. Okay, mostly Lars.

2) Any bands or artists that don't write their own music. Real musicians write and play their own songs.

3) Egotistical guitar players. I know a local guy who is amazing but he's too into himself that it makes me sick.

4) 7-string guitarists that don't touch the low string.

5) Cover bands. It's cool to play other people's music but it's so much more rewarding to play your own stuff.

6) American Idol winners (please see number 2). Sure they're talented but not what I call true artists.

7) Any bands that wear masks and or full face makeup.

8) Anybody with a signature series this or that (there are a few exceptions)

John Mayer - technically talented, writes horrible vapid songs, part giant frat douche, part intelligent and funny, his pretend disdain for the celebrity lifestyle while also totally living it...the fact that with his talent, he could be involved in some amazing music instead of soulless unidentifiable pop garbage...just everything about him pisses me off.

Pearl Jam - I've almost never listened to them. But I have a friend who's insanely into them, and his musical tastes are usually 70% awesome and 30% horrible. And with their big catalog, I'm not sure I want to make that sort of investment (trying to listen to a few of their albums) to find out if they're good...cause their 3-4 songs that I have heard before were annoying.

Death Cab - anything from Plans after, they just started pissing me off. The three songs I heard off Plans where good, but they really veered on self-parody and their "sound"/production was starting to make me claustrophobic. So I didn't bother listening more. Then that next album came out, and I listened to the first single, with that boring 2 minute "jam" at the beginning...all self-important, "we're artists!" thing. Just kind of turned me off to a band I'd already sort of lost track off.

Saving Abel,Silverchair,Stone Temple Pilots,Buckcherry,papa roach,Green Day,Don Henley pretty much anything I hear on local radio,regardless of the genre,can blow me while I doodoo. Bear in mind,I live in tha dirty south,so I hear a lot of BAD rap,except for the occasional OutKast song. Usually,it's Gucci Mane going "BRRR!!!! over a casio beat. Hey,I'll make dumb noises over a snazzy beat and talk about how rich I am Lifehouse is a piece of shit too. And Crazytown"come my lady/come,come mah leddy" is like a herpe on a hemorrhoid -suck on top of suck. That's 2 stories of bullshit
