Lookin at these because they seem super powerful. I recently got a 300 watt tube head so I'm looking for something that won't buckle at 3 on the volume knob. Has anyone ever gone with a rig like this? I play very fuzzy bass, I use a hyper fuzz and a digitech death metal with an old eb-3.

Re: Club/DJ Speaker Cabs for Bass Guitar?
My old bass player ran a similar setup. He ran two JBL PA cabs and a 4x10 cab. It was very full range and he used eq/preamps before each power amp to dial in each cab. It was a constant struggle for me to cut through and not make mud because he was covering so many ranges though. He ran so many pedals like pitch shifting and others that brought more treble and mid-range into his sound though it was hard to tell where he actually set when playing clean. I don't know what using a tube amp would sound like as he was all crown solid state power amps and custom preamps. It all sounded somewhat neat alone though. Oh, he always brought stands to set them up at ear level.
Lightning Bolt uses a lot of mixed cabs and amps like that though but he doesn't have a guitar player around to make muddy sound.
I want to say my old bass player's setup was a Warwick active bass>an old whammy>bass micro synth> big muff> dmm>gigs delay>rack mount effects> mixer> various preamps> various power amps> stereo pair of jbl cabs and 4x10 cab for punch bass.
My other friend/ex-boss ran two fender heads into stereo JBL cabs because he liked the range better (he probably used a stereo Rickenbacker). But this was in the 60s and he was part of a hippie band in SF. Always thought that was neat though.
Edited 'cause it's a pain to type on the phone.

I'm about to try something sorta similar. Orange CR120 into a 15+horn PA speaker/monitor for (bass) synth.
