Guhhh I really want to somehow turn my mustang bass into a bass V or bass VI. I love the thing to death but i just don't play bass often cos i don't like the string spacing. It would probably be way too much for me to do myself though.

There was a guy that turned his jaguar bass into a bass vi pretty easily. Just gotta get the measurements right for the bridge and not be afraid to drill holes in your headstock.

New bass got here today. Ric 4004L. Just need to do a setup and throw some heavier strings on there and I'm set.

I have a 20 year old MIM Fender jazz bass, Ive been thinking about putting some upgrades on it. New hipshot bridge, new pickups, and maybe maybe a new paint job, and maybe jaguar on and off switchs.
Anyone ever upgrade the pick ups on a jazz, and what would you go with? Ive been debating about fralins or duncans.

I had some aguilar super singles on a bass and they sounded really great. balanced and firm. I don't have much experience with changing out pickups though

A pic of it just as I finished building and setting it up. Has a Jazz bass neck and Pickup Wiz pups. LOVE it.

Bass VI is amazing, but when I want to tap into my primal caveman side, I grab my four stringer. I can't beat the shit out of the bass VI like I can a regular bass.

Bass VI is for finesse. Bass is for SMASH.
