The Most Versatile Delay

Hi.

This is my very first post. I'm having a hard time making a decision on a very "versatile" delay pedal. There are just too many options out there, which is great. I have been looking at the TC Electronic FlashbackX4, Vox Delay Lab, and possibly the Pigtronix Echolution. Personal opinions on the delays you love and why would be very much appreciated.

I too have fapped while surfing ILF.

For me it is the Timefactor. It just works for me with the banks, and all of the super tweakable sounds. I sold it to try the DL4, El Capistan and all kinds of other delays and I keep coming back to the Timefactor.

Sorry to hear about the broken hand and fapping issues. I find myself fapping to dudes with broken hands...
Does the DL4 cover all the bases for you? Have you ever had any issues with the footswitches or anything else on the DL4? I will check out a Timefactor.

I've never used a DL-4 myself, but I've played with several people who have, and I'd say that and the Boss DD-20 are probably the most common "do everything" delays on the market. When I've seen the on bandmembers's boards the DL4 has been pretty bulletproof, but I don't know if I'd qualify those guitarists as heavy steppers.

I've had the Vox and TC electronic. Pretty similar but the Vox has a lot of features I didn't mess with. Way too in depth for me, but some love it. It is cheap and does more than the dl4. It's an update on that thing. Definitely better than the flashback x4.

Time factor I've not touched for the same reason I sold my Vox. Way more than I need. Versatility is definitely there. I'd say go Vox.

DL4 is great for looping and pretty meh for delay in my opinion.

Any of the ones you listed should work just fine. I personally don't like the really versatile delays like that because I get too overwhelmed, but what I've noticed is it's much more about finding one that you find easy/intuitive to use and much less about what's the 'best.'

I'm super fucking interested in the Old Blood Noise Black Fountain, myself. Maybe I'll bite the bullet one of these days soon and pick one up.

I'm with t-rey on this.
My personal favourite is the Deluxe Memory Man 550-TT, even sold my Timeline afterwards as the DMM550TT is just so fun and easy to use.
In my opinion it's one of the most versatile delays on the market today, with one setting I can go from a beautiful cloudy delay to a great rhythmic delay just by altering the way I play, the adjustable momentary feedback swell on the tap tempo switch is incredibly useful as well.

I have the Digitech Timebender and it has a lot of great settings and things to do with it. I really enjoy the octave down delay effect.
