i always wished the compressor had more control, even just a threshold knob would be rad. is this a possible mod anyone know? i love the sound but i don't need it on super squash all the time. it absolutely flattens kick drums and stuff. can be hard to tame for sure.

its the closest thing i've found to the vinyl sim compression sound on the SP303/404. which is to my ears the best shitty compression ever.

I was disappointed with mine.
The compressor is just way too much, and as mentioned, no control.
Super squash.

I almost felt like it was interpreting my playing too much.

Would not recommend.

Agreed 100%, I had one here but sent it back, this click in the sound is super annoying and not musical at all to my ears, I went with the Warped Vinyl and never looked back.

But Wraped Vinyl is 434 CAD. This is overkill for a chorus.
I would pay that much for a delay, but not a chorus.

I will say one thing, the ILFJ doesn't do chorus, pretty much only vibrato and compression. I had one and loved how it sounded, but in the end I wanted more control over the compressor. Mine was also somewhat noisy, or more particular than my other pedals. It stacked really well with dirt pedals, especially if you wanted to calm down the high end and wanted a smoother sound. It was also great with pretty much all my pedals really. it also has a LOT of low end for the most part.

i'm probably going to end up with a 404 on my pedalboard for the vinyl sim. having the whole sampler thing there would be a plus, too

n=Never used one of these but I've been interested for a while. To get that much squash they must be hitting the threshold pretty hard. With a trace you could find which resistor(s) are controlling the input gain and swap in a control pot instead,

No, I just want something different than my Cosmi v3.

i really loved the loop junky, but was broke, so i sold it. then i got the instant, and i was pretty unimpressed. it seemed more like a canned chorus/compressor than an actual real-time recreation of the loop junky sound.

believe it or not, the Behringer Ultra Vibrato is pretty great. pair that with an EQ & a looper, and you can get pretty close.

I use the UV300 more often than the ILFJ. I did a slow mod to the UV300 and now it's real slow and sounds as good as can be
