Railhammer vs Alumitone PUPs

Post by colossus »

Maybe this should go in GuitLove or Doom Room... :idk:

I want a new neck PUP for my baritone. I currently have a GFS Mean 90 and there and I like it, but it's a bit muddy with low tunings. Who's used a Railhammer or Alumitone? I'm looking at both P90 and HB models. Thoughts? Differences between the two? Both seem to promise hi-fi clarity, whatever the hell that means, but I think that's what I'm seeking. They also both look awesome, so that's a plus. :thumb:

What say you?
:poke:

Oh, and musically I do sort of a Earth clean sound with occasional low doomy fuzzed out chords. I currently have a Tele nocaster in the bridge and I want to keep that. I could care less about the middle position sounding good.

Haven't tried either, but am admittedly curious about both. That said, if I was looking for super clarity, hi-fi, whatevers, first stop would be Bill Lawrence / Wilde Pickups.... Cheaper than either of the above, similar cosmetics to the Railhammer, handmade, can get them semi-custom tuned to your spec, etc.
