Hawk Fuzz.....
I just brought a Hawk fuzz from B/S/T on a whim. My first SS/BS pedal. I haven't got it yet, but was just wondering who owns one or who has played one? I noticed on the smallsound/bigsound site that they are no longer being made. What do you guys think of them? The demo's I heard are awesome. Just want to know what to expect before I get it.

Re: Hawk Fuzz.....
Sorry, wish I knew

Didn't Eric have one? I seem to recall someone saying it was sweet on bass...

I think Behndy said it was like all the best settings from the TAFM.

Re: Hawk Fuzz.....
Hey ha,
Hawk sizzles, spits, growls, and occasionally gurgles. I have no git-box experience, but on bass, it punches like a Hitmonchan. Its highlight is the feedback-loopy nature of the fuzz. It's been a kind of while since I had or even THOUGHT about the Hawk tho. I need moar knobs on mah lil fuzzlings

Mmmm! Sounds like it will be my kind of fuzz. Does it get along ok with active bass?

Re: Hawk Fuzz.....
Haha just saw this. I used both a passive (p-bass) and active (stingray). Passive was woolly and splatty, active was pretty splatty and almost synth like. This infront of my Pickle Pie B was pretty brutal. The switches are nifty, fuck if I ever remember what setting I left them on most of the time. It can go from really grainy and splattery to full on with some combos. The volume knob is mainly for output only; backing it off doesn't really do much. The switches do though. I can't remember (it's actually been a while since I had used the Hawk last) which switch it is, but it cranks the gain quite a bit. The bottom switch is the fuzz character. I liked the full on, muff-esque setting the most. Watch the output, little bastard can get really REALLY loud.
awesome signature with witty quotes from all you fuckers

Got the Hawk last week. Finally got my board rewired so I could play it last night. This thing is fucking awesome. Only had a little bit of time with it but so far I love it. It can only get better from here. Wonder why Brian doesn't make them anymore?

not many people bought them. i thought a relatively cheap fuzz pedal would be a good move but i guess i thought wrong!

Re: Hawk Fuzz.....
I'm all about cheap awesome fuzzes. People missed out on something really good. Maybe if they were $30 more people would of jumped all over them. Back when I was moving the ganja I got my hands on a pound of really good bud cheap. So I was trying to pass on the savings to my customers. Was only asking $60 for a 1/4 oz. Everyone would be asking, why so cheap? Whats wrong with it? No one wanted it. So I buried it for a few months till xmas time when things dried up. Sold it at $120 a 1/4 oz. Sold like hotcakes. I guess some people are skeptical of things when they are cheap.
