Danelectro French Toast octave fuzz

Post by paddy398 »

Hello all,

Long time no post. Happy new year and all that jazz! I'm just wondering if anybody knows of anywhere i can get my hands on a danelectro french toast in the UK. I can't find one anywhere (online or actual reality) and it's driving me nuts!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Much Love

Or just a clone of a foxx tone machine for that matter. Preferably for under £60 if that's possible.

Have you tried eBay and Reverb.com? Shipping might be expensive though.

I'm starting to like mine and that might be my first fuzz that goes into my board.

Yeah there's a couple on ebay and reverb but they're in America and the possible import charges make it too risky. I've just taken the plunge on a joyo voodoo octave and whilst they seem to divide opinion there's a fairly easy mod to make it a pretty decent clone of the foxx tone machine. Either way for 25 quid you can't really go too wrong!
There was just something about the french toast i really loved. Used it in the studio once and thought it was so volatile and uncontrollable that having it on my board would be a lot of fun. Plus i'm so bored with my fuzz face!

Oh yeah, I forgot of that Joyo.

There are 2 caps that need to be inverted to be a 100% Foxx clone. Look at diystompboxes for the details.

Yeah i saw that threat earlier, that's what prompted me to go for the joyo. I also looked into building a foxx clone with that exact pcb kit but alas i have tried and failed to build too many pedals to embark on another fruitless endeavour. I put it down to my lack of patience...and skill obviously but let's blame the patience for now.
Anyway thank you all for you're help. I remembered why i used to use this site so much; everyone is so damn helpful...and nice!
