For quick simple recordings I use tape machine. There's a free demo version but definitely pay the couple bucks to get the full version.

I dunno bout no sequencers. Like drummy bits?

I JUST WANT LOVEEEEEEE.

and butts.

always butts.

jia. i don't need to sort anything for recording Real World Playing shtuff, i need a sequencer with a decent drum machine, few synths, real world instrument samples would be neat? but something that lets me tap out a beat idea and record some melody ramblings when i'm out about, something to come back to and flesh out when i have a laptop or a bass?

hurm. am i reading Caustic wrong? i knew it was a modular setup with soft synths, but i thought it had a way to write in midi like sequences for the instruments?

i miss the Korg Electribe emulator on itoons. spent so much damn time with the hardware Electribes the soft version was LOVELY butts.

You should be able to do all that on your android with FL Studio. I can't speak to how good it works, but it sounds like it has the features you want.

You should know that the reason the choices are slimmer on android is because android has an inherent issue with latency in music apps. Or at least it did. I don't know if that has been addressed yet, but at any rate, it would certainly have hindered past development of apps. You probably should have stuck to your iphone if this is a must have function.

FEATURES

• 133 high quality instruments, drum kits & sliced-loop beats
• All instruments have FL Studio desktop equivalents for FL Studio desktop import and extension
• Step sequencer for fast percussion programming and sliced-loop reworking
• Configurable virtual piano-keyboard
• Drum pads: Configurable number of pads
• Audio tracks: audio recording (with monitoring), wav/m4a import
• Wave editor: cut, trim, normalize, reverse, insert silence, fade in/out (3 curves)
• Browser with preview button and logical sorting into Instruments, Synths, Drum kits & Loops
• Pan, volume, release and attack time configurable per instrument
• Pitch bend via accelerometer
• High quality, battery-friendly audio engine (latency depends on the device)
• Drum loops and sliced loops ready to start your project with a cool beat
• Effects include Limiter, Reverb, Delay, EQ, Amp & Filter to enhance your mix
• 99 track sequencer and intuitive editing options
• Per-track mute, solo, effect bus, pan and volume adjustment
• Edit at the level of tracks, bars or down to individual notes
• Piano roll editor for manual entry of note & chord sequence data or detailed editing of recorded performances
• Undo and redo for all editable screens
• Metronome with tempo & time-signature settings
• Intuitive positioning of screens with the slide gesture and resize with the pinch gesture
• Save and load your songs, export to WAV and AAC
• MIDI file import/export
• Share your songs via Email or Dropbox
• In-app user manual
• Android 2.3.3 required
• Works with all screen resolutions, optimized for 1280x800, 800x480, 960x640 and 480x320 screens.

hee. Nora BUTTS.

sweet! i'll look to see if there's a latency issue still, and FL Studio (on desktop at least) is way more than i need. i'll check that. yeah, i know iCrud has way more audio options, but i just need an idea pad.

Soni Butts - i have NOT. but ABOUTS TOO.

Derilectibutts - jia. if you like the Electribe stuff it's a SUPER faithful recreation. that sounds great. and has labels for every sub menu button.

I wish android had Samplr...or any of the amazing apps it has for music, really. I'm probably going to buy an iPad as a music tool because of how awesome they are. :|

I could go Android for phone but man I would never get rid of my iPad for music stuffs, I especially have been getting into Samplr (again) and Werkbench.

I knew there was a latency issue for Android but I am guessing that is being lessened at least because i read that a lot of iOS apps are going to be ported to Android in the near future.

just grabbed MikroWave. suuuuuuper basic, some cheesy toanz, but it has a simple, quick sequencer and midi export.

NIFTY.

SampLrRrrR is SO GOOD. i would love if they did a port.

really, the lack of H9 control is the biggest annoyance of going Android. but fuck it. hated apple so damn much.
