when mentioning the Boss DD series... no love for the RV-3 I initially asked about as well?
Fuck yes. I loved the shit out of my RV3. I ended up flipping it cause of a bypass/noise issue that later turned out to be my EHX Freeze's fault

Relied on it heavily back when I was in my post rock phase. Got it for the reverbs, but it ended up making my DD5 redundant. Basicly because the repeats on the RV3 were a lot more present and clearer. Something a lot of people might call 'too digital', but it worked great for me. Also, the verb+delay mode alone is instant explosions in the sky or this will destroy you. A whole genre I got tired off, but that effect/sound is still usefull for other stuff as well...

Well lol. Found a DOD DFX9 for a great price in BST, getting that along with a Devi fuzz... awesome bargain

a) always wanted to try it
b) infinite repeats

ps: also tried some pedals at work. Didn't enjoy Memory Boy, Digitech Digidelay was really boring, DD3 was way too "clicky" and squeeky clean for my taste, DD7 was awesome on Modulate setting, but didn't really enjoy the rest of it that much, quite liked Flashback Mini. And the Alter Ego V2 was pretty cool. *sigh* I'm weird
I make pedal demos as East Stomp Boutique - http://www.youtube.com/c/eaststompboutique

Caxide's tone was definitely PS-3/RV-3. That's why they were a hot commodity on bass for a while -- until people kind of realized you could basically 'only' sound like the clean parts from an Isis record.
good deals are here.

Totally agree -- Isis is one of my favorite bands ever, and Caxide's tone is glorious (even if it's nothing I'd want on my own). But, uh, you can only make so many Beedly-Boop-boop... boop... boop-be-doop riffs before you realize that you're just writing Absence of Truth B-sides.

I didn't notice anybody say the Behringer Vintage Time Machine. It was US$69 new and I sold mine for $40. Since you're replacing an old wonky DMM you should just get this. Has the exact controls of the DMM

That said I still use mostly my Boss DD-5 and also like the Dr. Scientist Sunny Day Delay.

The RV3 is literally my favorite reverb/delay. It's literally perfect for bass, bass vi, and synth because it's really cold and clear and sticks out even in a dense mix. I use one along with a carbon copy on my main board and it's almost always on. It's very similar to the Jeff Caxide tone minus all the cool pitch shifting the PS3 does.
