Also Pelican. And Omega Massif. And Year of No Light.
...guess I know what I'm listening to this afternoon....
If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you.
If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you.
-The Gospel of Thomas
Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darknesses of other people.

No one has mentioned Orchid. Mouth of Madness is a solid album. Especially if your into those early Sabbath jams and riffs. And Church Of Misery - Houses of the Unholy.
I feel like both of those are a good way to ease into Doom if you're already a Sabbath fan to begin with. After COM then you can slide into Sleep's Holy Mountain, which will lead to Dopesmoker, which will lead to everything else that's been posted. The possibilities are endless after Dopesmoker because you'll search every album that can compete with it and find some great bands along the way.
Wait no one mentioned Rwake yet? Voices of Omens is, in my opinion, one of the best doom/sludge albums of the last ten years. The rest of their catalog is tremendous.
Also on the subject of Bong bands, Belzebong. More fuzz and groove and volume.

Everything posted so far is awesome! You'll definately find something you like/love if you go through all these. Also, don't feel bad if you don't like everything that gets praised here, there is so much to this genre!
Live your life like a tree.
