DBA Reverberation Machine vs. Industrialelectric RM-1N
Hi people,
I am looking long and hard at both of these pedals. From the demoes online, they seem to cover similar ground with the Industrialelectric offering A LOT more options of course. More options seem like a good thing to most people, but maybe for me the amount of knobs seems a little overwhelming. I am wondering if someone on this forum has both pedals and could give a short comparison? That would be very helpfull. If there are other pedals doing similart things, please name them as well...
Thank you

I have the RM-1N and its fucking awesome. Its like a fucked up spring verb type deal, definite kind of springy attack and the noisy shit.

Re: DBA Reverberation Machine vs. Industrialelectric RM-1N
Get an RM-1 dude, you will not regret it. It's trumps the shit out of the Reverberation in terms of controls and flexibility. Plus it's a fuzz. You must understand that before you buy it. It's a fuzz reverb, not a straight reverb. Feedback on the RM 1 is insane as well. It will drone your brains out!
I'm going to make a demo, and hopefully Excane will too.

Yeah, its basically an amp in a box man. A tad of post gain with pulled back verb sounds awesome as an always on thing.

Everyone, including Satan, seems to know I love me some IE, but I say this without any bias - get the RM if you can.
Don't sweat the control set. It's not that complicated. Fully half the knobs are essentially volume knobs - gain, mix, level - for different parts of the circuit. Spend 5 minutes with it and you'll have the hang of it.
As for side by side comparisons or reviews, I don't know if anyone other than Unka Grandpoop has had both and don't know if he had them at the same time. But the DBA won't cover 75% of the the IE can do. The IE will likely cover 85-100% of the DBA.
And have you seen the most recent RM pics posted?! Fuck.
Get it. For all of the interesting reverbs released in 2014 - and there were half a metric fuck ton - the RM is the absolute king. There's NOTHING like it. (You can always pick up a DBA in the BST down the road for short money and the post a vid of the RM crushing it's puny hipster brooklyn bones)

Re: DBA Reverberation Machine vs. Industrialelectric RM-1N
I had this same dilemma last night. My amp suits me fine, and already covers most of my fuzz and gain needs with its dirty channel with a couple of SS/BS pedals to augment tone when playing cleaner stuff, so the "amp in a box" aspect would just have been redundancy for me. Since I just wanted a reverb with cool textures I went with the DBA. It seemed like you could get a lot of good musical sounds out of it with minimal knob twiddling.

The DBA is also readily available and simple to order.
I have no idea (other than maybe send a PM?) how to go about ordering a RM-1.

Re: DBA Reverberation Machine vs. Industrialelectric RM-1N
I've got both pedals and agree with about everything that's been said, the Reverb Machine is truly incredible reverb pedal capable of an amazing range of sounds and probably the smarter investment considering they cost about the same. The reverberation machine is also pretty great in its somewhat more limited capacity by comparison. I think its key strength is in its blown out sounding bass heavyness, the reverb machine doesnt go as low/heavy as the dba. I still use both pedals for different purposes, but find alot more inspiration from the reverb machine. I can't say much else that these demos don't tell better. Dealing with andrew at Industrialectric was a real pleasure.

Re: DBA Reverberation Machine vs. Industrialelectric RM-1N
The reverb machine is one of those pedals that falls into the "I can't believe it does this much!" vs the more common "It's great but if it could do x or y it would be perfect." Within the Top 10 of pedals I've had the opportunity to try out for sure.

I've never tried the RM-1N but I love the DBA. Simple controls, HUGE sounding, and the output is great for slamming an amp or other fuzz pedals. The ability to dial in grit is fantastic too. I use it in tandem with an older big big RRR and my reverb needs are covered.

Also, it should be noted that the RM-1N is indeed GY!BE in a box. Just sayin.

Re: DBA Reverberation Machine vs. Industrialelectric RM-1N
I will be trying my RM-1N for the first time tomorrow. I'll definitely come back here and post my first impressions. As already stated, Andrew is the bestest dudezorz to deal with. He's super psyched on you being interested in his pedals and keeps you posted at all times. It was almost as if I was sitting next to him building it. From the time I sent him a PM to the time it shipped (which only took 3 days all the way to Norway) 3-4 weeks went by. Keep in mind he had to wait close to two weeks for some parts to arrive. I'm assuming he ordered enough for a few more builds, so if you PM him he might get cracking on it right away.
The Echo Degrader might have been my favourite pedal of 2014 (I got my grubby hands on about 15 this year), so it's safe to say that I've got high hopes for the RM-1N. I have no doubt it will be yummy!

The RM-1N is awesome! Got to try it in the tourbox. Crazy versatile with the two gains, tone, drone, etc. I think just about everyone would like it.
