Decent DELAY with clean out?

Post by John »

I'd like to send the clean signal to the rest of my effects and send the delayed signal somewhere else. Is there a pedal I can do this with, without having to use a splitter pedal?

i think some of the boss delays can be configured this way. memory man has echo out, which will send your clean thru the main out.

Ibanez/Maxon AD9 also has a separate dry out.

I think it would be harder to list delays without a separate dry out jack.
Decent or not, that's up to you.

DD-7, I think

Big Box Deluxe memory mans do this. I've used the clean out into my Digiverb then plugged them both through my Supernatural Reverb.... man I need to wire my board up to do that again cuz that was sick.

Depends on what you call decent, or how much you can spend...But if I'm not mistking, my old DD5 had a seperate clean out. I'd assume the same goes for the DD7.

Both impressive pedals imo. I was particularly in love with the DD5's rather unique reverse mode. Don't know what other requirement you have, but in case you're after lush tape delay tones, crystal clear digital repeats, or a useable loop sampler: Looks elsewhere. Maybe the DD7, or definatelly the Hardwire DL7, as well as a ton of more pricey options.

Good call on the big box Deluxe MM: Too bad I'm out of money and board space, or I'd snag one of those in a heartbeat.

Yea, when I want that type of thing I use something programmable with stereo outs (kill all repeats/mix on left channel, send all repeats or a mix of clean/repeat to right, etc) or the Space Echo (which has preamp out/effect only options.

But that sort of thing more often than not is something that I want programmable.

What form factor/price/features are you looking for would be a more appropriate question I guess - there's a ton of "dry out" options out there.

Mhm +1. Stereo routing from the wet/dry outputs via DMM is one of my fav features...because both sides get the pre-amp character and some control over boost or attenuation.

EAR AD4096 and Malekko 600B also did it for me, they just don't do it for me like dem DMMs :snax:

Looks like I'm getting an Ibanez DDL from the B/S/T. Will report back on its efficacy. Thanks team!

Not quite the same, but have you concidered an Ibanez DE7? They just sound fucking stellar concidering how ridiculously cheap they can be found.

I guess what scares me off of them is that I had a distortion pedal from that tone-lock line some years back, and the foot switch crapped out. Apparently this is very common with these jams. This delay is going to be the first pedal in my chain, and I can't afford something that could be unreliable. On top of that, I need something that will not jeopardize my clean signal and I don't trust a cheapo jammy to not do the dreaded tone suckage.

Don't spend a lot, buy a second if you LOVE it, and don't sweat it?
