Absolutely! I would like to get a pickguard made because it looks like there will be a bit of a gap, lengthwise, on the stock one.

That's exactly how I use it.neonblack wrote:I have this vision. Of using a bass vi as a hybrid bass/lead instrument with synthy fuzz and octaves and glitchy stuff. And looping. I basically want to be St. Vincent with a bass vi. I felt like this was the best place to share. Is anyone using it like this?

Yeah the Schecter would be the perfect fit for your needs. No trem to worry about as well.

Is the Fender worth it, or should I just go for the Squire? I can't believe I haven't placed my order yet. I'm still not sure about the color body or pickguard either...
I was thinking black Squire with red tortoise, then maybe re-finish the body sherwood green if I get bored of the look.

Re: Let's see your BASS VI, people
I like the switching options on the Squier more. And the fender doesn't have the strangle switch. However, I think the Squier needs more love to get it in prime working order. With all the upgrades I have planned (new pick guard, new bridge, possible new trem) its gonna end up being the same price as the pawnshop version probably.

Yes, I'm already planning upgrades for a guitar I don't own.

Re: Let's see your BASS VI, people
I'm thinking of the exact same upgrades for the Squire, dude.
And strings of course...Maybe change the nut too, if it's terrible. I'm going to have to order the VI online, so I won't get to check it prior to getting it.
Stores don't open for another 2 days, so that will leave me with some time to think.
