Here's an updated photo.
We're talking about 6'x8' here if even that.

I really like this. Is that a gristleizer over on the shelf?

That thread you posted was way cool. I think people around these parts think more along the lines of bigger is better... Nowadays I'm more inclined towards making a tiny space than a big space, though.
Thanks. Yes, that's the Endangered Audio Gristleizer . Recently decided to move out the practice space I shared with who-
knows-how-many-other people, which I hardly ever used. Put the bigger stuff in a storage unit and the little went in
the back room of my work. Aside from the 2 synths, it's mostly table-top gear here. I live in SF, where it's mega-expensive
and I have an almost 2 year old daughter at home (apartment) so doing a home studio is out of the question. It's all about
space-saving here!

My music room. Its also just my room. But mainly I just share space with gear.

Image
This is my new desk. It was yet another thrift find from my fiance's dad. A lot more comfortable than what I had before. Currently, most of my stuff happens on that flower power lookin' laptop on top of the switch breakers. Data from that gets transferred to a windows XP under the desk for recording the vocals and mixing, then transferred back to the laptop for finalizing and publishing.

Image
Amps! The main bitch is the Line 6, pretty much all the instruments get recorded through that except for some synths and vocals. Everything gets direct in currently, but one day I hope to have a section of my closet set aside for amp isolation with mics for recording. But I do like the way this sounds, very easy to EQ things and keeps the sound very true to what you hear in person. The small amp is used for monitoring the guitars when recording. It sounds like ass, but I just need to hear what I'm playing when recording, not the final sound. So it works.

Image
The rig! My pedalboard plus the keyboard I use for synths when I want something more "human" feeling as opposed to MIDI. Currently the board is plugged into the keys for fucked up synth noise.

Image
And up above we have the guitars. Newest one is the SG. It slays.

Image
The non guitar futon. Sometimes there's people sitting there, sometimes there's dogs. Everyone is comfortable all the time.

And ultimately, that's the point behind this place. Comfort. All the studios I've every loved we're cosy and warm like a log cabin. I feel like being physically comfortable allows the creativity to flow along with the stress release. Even when I get a bigger spot I plan on it having the same vibe of a homey comfort. It also helps that 100% of what you see here is used/second hand. IDK, for me that makes it feel more alive. Second hand objects inspire me, it makes everything feel like it has a story behind it. So I litter my studio with such objects.

But enough rambling. Cut to a few hours later, yada yada yada and BAM:

So yea. :p :snax:

Reworked my setup. Went for something a bit more minimal desk wise, and it's nice. I have about 4 or 5 square meters to use so...

Desk space:

Synth corner (right next to the desk, on the left hand side):

Guitar corner (opposite wall):

So big life question... I'm looking for a new place to live. Did you guys factor in a music room to where you looked at to live? Where I live is regretfully really expensive (Santa Rosa, CA... wine country baby). I have an almost 1 year old that I really want to get into her own room, but going from my current one bedroom to a 3 bedroom is a big jump, much as I would like it.
