Memory Boy?

Post by Phengren Oswald »

1. What do people generally think of the EHX Memory Boy?

2. Has anyone used Control Voltage with the Exp. input?

Great delay. However, finding the used deluxe for a little bit more is where it's at.

Got the Deluxe Memory Boy, dig it, it's one of the cooler analog delays out there I think and it's got tap tempo but I have way too many delays.
I prefer it with the secondary function tone control full counter clock wise or only 1/4 up, it's more wide range and cloudy that way, sometimes in the store they have them setup differently and it changes the character quite a lot.
good deals with: the_brow, phantasmagorovich, alexsga, DarkAxel, goroth, The Wood Wizard, Tendollarcat, vbps, monkeydancer, intothegroove, Brobee

Deluxe Memory Boy is indeed really cool and an amazing unit for the price.
I don't know of any other pedal with all those features for <$200.

The exp. control works great too, I wish I can control more than 1 value simultaneously though.

Just sold one. I had it hooked up to my modular, CV and all. It was really, really nice and dubby.

I actually love it as a chorus and for weird sounds. I often think about getting it again just for that, but I'm about that stereo life now.

I too have the Deluxe version, I'm sure the standard Memory Boy is well worth having, especially if it's available for a good price.

Just realized that I had the little, tiny Memory Boy a couple of years ago. It was alright, sounded nice as far as I remember. Think I only sold it to try something else.

Memory Toy! That was the name! Might've sold it for weed.

The delay time on the Memory Boy will increase with temperature.
Or so, I've found anyway. I'd be playing a gig on a hot stage and would suddenly have another 200ms of delay time.
Lastly, this pedal is sweet but does have a sizeable volume boost when engaged.
