NW, your song reminds me of the "unreleased' stuff by 65daysofstatic. Glitchy sonic landscapes are fun.

Caspian rules. I think they used to be on a label (Radar) with these two awesome-ass post-rockish bands, Conastants and Junius. Heard of em? Enoch and I played a show with Constants before and I played with both Constants and Junius another time. Constants is like a mix between Isis and Applessed Cast and Junius is somewhat similar only with a little Tears for Fears thrown in. I'll try to dig up some videos sometime soon

swans, glen branca, rhys chatham etc. were all doing what godspeed was doing well before godspeed ever existed, while still experimenting with other sounds as well. Every genre is filled with millions of bands that sound the same, it is the nature of the beast.

I think Godspeed just brought a cohesive atmosphere to the sound more than being super original. The way they execute everything within their compositions is the most interesting part of it to me.

Howard Bilerman. Coolest dude ever. Supremely fulfilled his role as producer. I'm headed back up in Feb to mix with him. :thumb:

Efrim's in the picture. He tracked a couple of tunes too.

Oh man, Bilerman is a great recording engineer. You're lucky that you're getting to work with him. Is there a possibility of getting some samples of what you did there, or will we just have to wait for the album? ;)

True that. It's completely different fairytales. All very great fairytales - but also very different. Liek comparing a muff with rocket (or soimething.... i'm drunk), but anyways. Great stuff, but different leagues.

Nothing to show right now, but I can give ILF a taste of what we've done after we get some initial mixes figured. The album was very percussion based with a lot of tom rhythms and the space turned out to be an unbelievable asset to get a certain natural sound to the kit (   ).

Efrim was way more reserved compared to Howard, though I didn't work enough with him to have a true opinion. He was happy to help with a transition we we're having trouble with, so that was his shining moment. All's I can say is that Howard's contribution was invaluable. Really have to credit him for pushing us to about the best we've ever played and being super helpful with some tougher arrangements. As well as just being a really cool personable guy. :thumb: /H2T endorsement
