Tell me about Koma pedals
I saw someone on tumblr using the BD101 earlier today and now I'm incredibly interested. It seems to be more modular synth focused than guitar/bass focused though? What exactly does the gate do to the delayed signal? Could I use it to only add delay in parts with softer picking then shut off when i play loudly? Basically, I'm really intrigued by but absolutely clueless about their stuff.

Re: Tell me about Koma pedals
I use mine equally with synth gear and with my guitar/bass setups. It's nice and easy to patch it with moogerfoogers etc. I read that they made some changes to make it more guitar friendly, but as far as I know I have an earlier version and it works just fine. The noise gate allows for interesting textures but can't really be set up like you describe. The infrared sensor is patchable to control different parameters and is a lot of interesting. It also has an f/x loop. Build quality is pretty nice.
Here is a demo where I'm playing guitar with the Koma bd101s expression controller set on the delay.

I thought it was you!! I honestly couldn't remember your username on here. (Even though i'm pretty sure it's the same...)Disarm D'arcy wrote:Did you mean you saw me on Tumblr using a BD101?
@UG- Thanks, the demos/explanation was really helpful. I'm definitely still interested but much more clear on what it does. This will definitely be more useful in my synth/noise rig which is exactly what I was hoping.

You might want to look into their Koma Kommanders infrared expression pedals too, they're SO amazing if you have gear with multiple expression inputs.
