i thought mojo was for the hipsters...i'm always getting these things confused. People with things I can't afford. I'd just assume call them all that.
"People with things I can't afford". Looking at the stuff from your collection I've seen, I'm not sure those people exist, UG.

Also, I'm with the clone crew.

yeah, i've spent the last year buying clones of my vintage pedals. they don't sound like them but they sound close enough to be backups in case they are needed. i'll still be recording with my originals though. its also cool to double track with an original on one track and a clone on the second to good effect.

dont you go badmouthing no mojo

I totally understand how vintage originals can sound different and lead to people preferring it. But I think the widespread notion that expensive mojo parts/vintage pedals automatically equal better sound is bullshit. Thankfully no one really seems to think that here and just goes by their ears :!!!:

it makes me wonder where the mojo comes from...was it only made in the 60 70s? Cause I have vintage pedals that still cop those classic vintage tones...I thought maybe the mojo was from aging parts but that doesn't seem to be the case. :idk:

I managed to find a grey enclosure/black pedal Univox Superfuzz [fy-6/superfuzz v2] on craigslist for hella cheap and I dig it a lot! I keep trying to pair it with other stuff but it's a tough one to add stuff to! Sounds pretty crazy on it's own. I really want to hear one of the orange/blue ones next to it though. They apparently added an internal trim pot in the orange ones, and I'm not sure what difference it makes, but I feel like I've seen the orange ones on more boards. I like the fy-6 [the superfuzz] over the fy-2 personally.

I tried a lot of clones and i think some of the gnar comes from it being older or shitty or something. The smallsound/bigsound buzzz [not specifically a clone] can get some sounds that are really close! I switch back and forth between the two a lot and sometimes stack them. And I've heard the malekko omicron fuzz is a really great clone. Other than that I didn't really like the wampler or black cat ones personally. Really curious about the tym fuzzilla and katanasound volcanic eruption.

It seems ridiculous but that big ol footswitch is INCREDIBLY satisfying to stomp on!
