Mobius and H9 easy preset scrolling

Post by Jwar »

Hey guys! So I wanted to ask a question I'm sure is covered somewhere on the web and I'm just too damn dumb to find it. I would love to get a controller to scroll through the presets on my Mobius and H9. I would love to do this with one box as opposed to having two. Now I know about Disaster Area (very cool stuff) but don't midi and don't get midi. :)

SO what do I need???

The Mobius is great but switch presets is the biggest pain in the ass. I mean I have to use both feet to do it. That's just dumb. :)

The H9 is worse. I have use an Apple product or their ridiculous interface to do it. At least it's one fucking switch scrolling though, stupid Mobius.

So what do I get???????????? HELP ME!!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!

I love you guys.

Disaster Area does all of the coding for you if you tell them what you want, you don't even really need to fool around with anything really, except for going into the menu for each to tell the pedals to accept MIDI.
You should reach out to them, they take on custom requests and I'm sure they have made a controller that can do both H9 and Mobius at the same time. I don't really know of any other way to get the type of control you want out of them.

Yea you're probably right. I just hate spending so much on a utility pedal like that. UGH. lol

hahah I know, I know. I hadn't looked at their pedals in a while (until I had the Mobius that you have now) and I was honestly expecting them to cost a lot more than they do, especially since they are really the only ones on the market that control stuff like that.

But it definitely seems like top shelf stuff.

OK! Got another question!!! LOL! So does Disaster Area make one of these controllers that can do 3-4 pedals? Or is two the max?

You can do three at least with the dmc 3
Maybe more with the bigger controllers.

I just asked them as well. hahaha. They recommend the Dmc-4 version 2 because of the H9 but said that anything above a DMC-3 could do it. Interesting and awesome.

Now the question, do I find a used one or bite the bullet?

Do I really need to buy their midi cables? They are 25 bucks...seems steep, but I know nothing about midi.

DMC3XL. the Gen2 is great. I got one precisely for getting to presets. i use it to control 3 pedals (timeline, mobius, space). i wanted the DMC4 because of the tap switch but i dont have the board real estate. if you do, get the 4 or the larger ones!

Don't buy their midi cables, $25 is ridiculous.

yes, we soon have to stop making new threads so we don't have to cut down on threads next year. there's a budget you know.

Hahaha! I just meant I didn't want to be a bother in general, but you're right. People makes threads constantly. haha

I just looked it up and you're right! Holy crap. You can get them for WAY cheaper than that. I have no idea as I don't midi, I just wanted the options this offers.

I have also been looking at the DMC-6D because not only can it support up to four devices, but I could use expression control over all of them. Plus more options than I need if I ever did need them. :)

Well I pulled the trigger on a DMC-6D. The Black Friday sale made it worth it. Can't wait!!

So apparently I'm a blithering idiot. UGH! Got a DMC-6D, set it up to be synced with my Mobius, Timeline and H9 but cannot for the life of me get it to work with the Timeline. It works with the Mobius which is first in the chain, and H9 which is second, but doesn't want to control expression on the H9 either.

SO I have the midi channel set up up

Mobius-1
H9-2
Timeline-3

I followed the directions....I'm confused? What gives? I've got to be missing something here.

For the sake of the two it's working with though. Holy shit this thing is awesome.
