Sorry, a 47ka or of course, a 50ka, but an old one....can't seem to find one anywhere that looks like the original.

Large Alpha pots would put you somewhere in that realm!

I've used a replacement (plus resistor) now and it was so bad I think contact spray would only have bought a bit of time. I don't know if it's some kind of conspiracy but I can never find the pot I need. Today I was after a 50kb 16mm Alpha with solder lugs on ebay UK so I can fix this Ibanez Standard Wau fuzz.....nothing. I have about 200 old pots in a box.....still nothing. Ordered one with PCB lugs in the end. There's gonna be a lot of swearing when I come to solder that little fucker in.

it looks like its been re-capped anyway so it's not really all that original to begin with. I'd think about maybe replacing both pots.

Yep, recapped but no choice there, it's 50 years old. Keeping it original would mean preventing it from working. :D

i have a FZ-1a that i recapped and used vintage tropical fish to keep it a bit old. but when i did it i left the original caps in and just jumpered them so when sold i can say it's all original.

How much effect on value do you think that has?

Personally, getting involved in that level of pedal fetishism makes me feel dirty. I'd much rather sell to someone that's gonna enjoy making a racket with it rather than kiss it goodnight. On the knob. Even if I lose out on a few quid.

It was a previous owner who swapped the caps, I just did the pot.
